Alvin Ballentine

Partner, payroll tax and business owners

Alvin works with owners of small businesses that fell behind on payroll or sales tax: restaurants, repair shops, cleaning crews, contractors. He takes the calls when a revenue officer shows up, and the ones from owners who are worried about a penalty in their own name.

How Alvin works

Alvin's cases usually start with a stack of quarterly returns that were filed late or not at all. He sorts out what the business owes, what you might owe personally, and what has to be filed this month so the problem stops growing.

When the IRS proposes the trust fund recovery penalty against an owner, he prepares the interview and the appeal, and he's on the call with you for both.

He coaches a youth basketball team in Decatur and keeps a running list of the best meat-and-three lunches in the city.
